Steers South Africa

To be fair, this is a Steers and as a Franchise store, it is not bad. I'm surprised to read such bad service reviews. I live down the road and when we feel like a takeaway, we know it will be Steers. So, we get bacon and cheese burgers with chips every time because we love them. The first two visits (Aug/Sept last year) I was served by a friendly, smiling young man named Amkelani. He patiently showed me how to use the ordering system, all the while checking my choices. I ordered two burger meals (with chips). Amkelani told me how long I would be kept waiting. I went to PnP quickly and got back to find Amkelani smiling and saying my order was ready. The burgers were fresh, tasty and decently prepared with lettuce, tomato, gherkins and sauce. The bacon and cheese always adds another dimension to the burgers. Amkelani was exactly the same, the second time - recognizing me and greeting politely. During December last year, I unwittingly ordered a strawberry milkshake as well, not taking note of the notices that the ice-cream was sold out, but I had already paid. I asked a young server, not sure if he is the manager, but his name is Justin. Justin apologized profusely for the inconvenience and requested I come by the next evening to collect my milkshake. When I arrived, Justin immediately recognized me and sorted my milkshake😊. The first week of 2026 I visited and met Nhlanhla - he was well-spoken, polite and friendly. Justin is a good ambassador for the company in my opinion - all three of these staff members treated me well, like a valued customer, as it should be. I am sorry I don't know the names of the cooks, but our burgers are always good, fresh and tasty 😋. During busier periods they work hard. The store is clean and the cooking process transparent, but I could not see if staff were wearing gloves? I always appreciate it when someone cooks for me because it is an act that requires time and effort. My only gripe is that there is no option for leaner bacon and sometimes the chips are not crispy. I have never got the wrong food or been treated disrespectfully. My motto is give credit where it's due, be grateful that you are able to order take-outs and be compassionate to staff. Overall, my experience has been good, the food is good and I give kudos to Amkelani, Justin and Nhlanhla - they are assets and give great customer service, they engage and show respect.

Service is quick and efficient..food preparation is on point and still has one of the best chips and cheesy chips meals. Milkshakes and soft serves are excellent quality as well.
